Scotland has no shortage of talented and ambitious young people. But too many lack the confidence, connections and relatable role models that can help them see what is possible.
SBN Connect brings young Scots together with experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Scotland’s global community.
Every donation helps us reach more young people. A gift of $2,000 supports one young person through the complete SBN Connect programme.
Today’s 18–24-year-olds have come of age amid financial instability, a global pandemic, political division, a cost-of-living emergency and an online world in which negative news is never far away.
We call them the Polycrisis Generation.
The talent and ambition are there. What many young people lack is access to the networks, mentors and relatable role models that can help turn that potential into opportunity. They may not know someone who has built a business, developed a successful career or overcome the same uncertainty they now face.
It is difficult to imagine a future you have never been able to see.

SBN Connect is changing that
SBN Connect is a programme for young people aged 18–24 from across Scotland.
Participants do not need an existing business or even a business idea. They simply need the ambition to build a successful future for themselves.
We connect them with inspiring and relatable entrepreneurs, professionals and business leaders from the global Scottish diaspora. Through the programme, each young person receives:
One-to-one mentoring from an experienced business leader
Practical skills and insights sessions
Honest conversations about success, setbacks and opportunity
Access to Scottish Business Network events and connections
Support to build their confidence and identify their next step
This is about helping young people see entrepreneurship, leadership and professional success as possibilities for people like them.

A donation of $2,000 supports one young person through the complete SBN Connect programme, from their initial introduction and mentor match through to skills development, events and access to the wider SBN community.
